Charles R. Eggert: Kudos to Sen. Michael Bennet’s education efforts

I applaud Senator Michael Bennet’s efforts to make it easier for foreign students
who earn science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) graduate
degrees from U.S. universities to remain here and work for American companies.
The company I lead, OPX Biotechnologies, is commercializing renewable chemicals
and fuels. In four years, OPXBIO has grown to employ 60 people, 48 of
whom have a STEM education. Of those people, 25 hold advanced degrees,
and all but four of these 25 are U.S. citizens. We have been fortunate to hire
many talented STEM graduates. At the same time, we have also experienced
first-hand how current visa rules make it time-consuming, costly, and occasionally
impossible to hire people with the specific skills we need to move our business
forward.
Make no mistake about it: We absolutely need to encourage more young Americans
to pursue degrees in STEM fields. Senator Bennet’s legislation addresses
this need through a STEM education funding provision.
The fact of the matter, though, is that we live in a global economy, and the pace
of innovation in high-tech fields is growing exponentially. We need to ensure the
U.S. remains at the forefront of technology development and commercialization.
Individuals from all over the world come here for an education and an opportunity
to research some of the most exciting innovations. I firmly believe we must
make it easier for these bright students to leverage their education here in the
United States. Doing so will improve the U.S. economy and our global competitiveness.
Sincerely,
Charles R. Eggert

I’m thinking about making my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Cheers

Hey there this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A lot of what you articulate happens to be astonishingly legitimate and that makes me ponder the reason why I hadn’t looked at this in this light before. This article really did switch the light on for me as far as this particular topic goes. But at this time there is actually 1 issue I am not necessarily too comfy with so while I attempt to reconcile that with the actual core idea of the point, let me observe what the rest of the visitors have to point out.Well done.
