Corporations have, by judgments made by the Supreme Court over the last 125 years, been given the rights granted by the Constitution of the United States to people. Corporations, however, were not created by God and thus do not have a soul, a heart or a conscience. They are entities created by people and have profit as a motivation.
Rulings have been made that the money they spend to get politicians elected to promote their agendas are equal to free speech. Thus, corporations are able to get laws passed that exempt them from paying the price for environmental devastation, exempt them from paying taxes, allow for unjust pay scales where CEOs receive pay that is many hundreds of percent higher than workers, and allows corporations to disperse jobs to overseas production plants, adding to the unemployment in their own country.
Our economy is in ruins. It is time for actual people to take a stand. Corporations were meant to serve the people, not to be in control of people. Humans have the capacity to grow, to change, to develop an attitude of serving the greater good, not just their own individual agenda. Humans have the capacity to love, to have empathy for others, and to love and care for their environment. Corporations do not!
Vote yes on issue 2H in the November 1st election. Stand for People, the planet and for Democracy.
