I would like to thank Dylan Burton for his letter (Open Forum, Sept. 15). It is time that the world understands who the Palestinians really are. Not an “abused and beaten people but a fundamentalist group who seek only the destruction of the Jewish state of Israel”.
I was appalled to see the lack of news of the recent Israel Embassy attack in Cairo, Egypt.
If Israel had attacked any of the Arab countries embassy, for sure it would be all over the news and we would see lots of anti-Israel protests all over the world.
It is unacceptable to see people blaming Israel for the 9/11 atrocity. This is irresponsible. When 9/11 attack happened the US rightfully responded to the attack. Unfortunately, they attacked the wrong country (for other interests). Even so, the war goes on for many years.
Palestinians constantly attack Israel with rockets killing many civilians on a daily basis. But the media does not cover that. They only have an interest in covering Israel’s right to retaliate.
I agree with Mr. Burton. Giving recognition of a statehood to a group of illegitimate terrorists is a terrible idea.
