It’s that time of year when I relish nightly walks knowing that Fall and cooler temperatures are not so far off. Unfortunately, my walks are often spoiled when I see wasps frantically trying to escape the yellow torture tubes that hang from many neighborhood trees in Boulder. Fortunately, there are great alternatives to the yellow traps which attract wasps to people’s yards only to be caught and starved to death. There are two products sold at McGuckins that deter rather than attract wasps. One is called “The Waspinator” and the other is “Bee-Free Natural Wasp Deterent”. They work on the principle that wasps are territorial and won’t build a nest near other wasps’ nests. They see what they think is another wasp nest and avoid your yard. Both are inexpensive and don’t require messy refill packets of wasp attractant. I’ve given them to a number of friends and everyone is amazed at how well they work. So I ask the humane and eco-concious in Boulder to switch over to the compassionate option for keeping wasps away.

Well, it’s day 14 for me and I’ve lost a solid 8.0 lbs. I switched plans back and forth (11-day to 10-day back to 11-day) at the beginning so I know that cost me, but I’m very happy with this. I like not having to make’ anything I find if I have to plan too much I’ll eat too much I’ll feel obligated to finish the whole thing. So I just slowly shove the food in my mouth and not worry too much if it tastes good (though of course it does), just waiting for that enough’ feeling, which is becoming easier to recognize. And I like the repetition of the same foods; again, I like not having to make meal plans and grocery trips just stick to the basics, eat, and get on with your life. I’ve also found I have a lot more time in the day on this diet, and I make sure I have something waiting to be done right after each meal so I don’t dawdle. The only problem I have is a little sluggishness during my work day, which is generally pretty physical (lots of walking, lifting). But I’m feeling pretty good generally and plan on sticking to my schedule 2 cheat meals after every 5 pound loss, no cheat days, no real cycles’.
