Chris Fowkes: Bicyclists, stop terrorizing Boulder Creek Path

I am so happy the bike park on Valmont has finally opened.  Maybe now those mountain bikers in their pretty uniforms will stop terrorizing Boulder Creek Path.  Anyone out for a Sunday stroll on that walkway is at risk of serious injury as those weapons on two wheels go wizzing by.  With all the wonderful bike trails provided for them, I don’t understand why they must monopolize a path loaded with pedestrians.  It would be okay if they would just be considerate enough to slow down.  It’s a wonder to me that they have not injured anyone yet but I think it is just a matter of time.

First, get your facts right. People have been injured in bike/ped crashes on the creek path. Also, there are very few mountain bike trails, not "all the wonderful bike trails provided for them." The city council just voted to uphold the near total ban of bikes on the West TSA.

Last, the type of bike is of no import as road bikers and mountain bikers are equally dangerous. If anything, the road bikers may be going faster because they're designed for speed and pavement.
