Wow. Sure is a lot of complaining about a few hours out of a whole year. As one reasonable reader wrote, 4/20 is part of Boulder’s identity. Only it’s pot itself that’s part of Boulder’s identity. I’ve lived in and around Boulder since 1966, when Boulder was full of pot heads. It’s never gone away, just shuffled it’s image. You know all those beautiful, expensive old homes on Spruce, Pine and Mapleton streets? They were rentals, full of pot smoking hippies in the sixties. Over the years the hippies were moved out and the yuppies moved in as Boulder became more wealthy, sophisticated, and politically correct.
So unclench, relax, and enjoy the day when 4/20 comes around again next year. After all, pot smoking is not leaving. It’s part of Boulder.
