In governing there are no easy solutions. It is easy to criticize, but, as George W. Bush said, “It’s hard work.” An elected official to national office has three duties: do what is best for the best for the nation, respond to his/her constituency’s wishes,and use her/his best judgment. One thing governing is not is doing nothing, which is a rejection of responsibility. Hard times demand solutions, often tough solutions. Governing is not always popular; it is never simple. Consider this when you cast your ballot.
