Democracy=governing power is derived from the people
Kevin Phillips, a political strategist to President Richard Nixon, said it best: The United States is a plutocracy in which there is a “fusion of money and government.” To buck this backward trend we need (at least) two parties that have promotion of democracy as their main purpose for the vision of the Founding Fathers to flourish. Right now it seems as if we are moving even deeper into being a plutocracy when you consider the amount of money being spent on elections. And where does most of that money come from? From present and future plutocrats.
