We have a NOAA all hazard radio system! We need to use it more effectively. This system could let us know with continual recordings in our area when we have]
a fire situation. It would be a back-up the reverse 911 system and activated the same way the weather system does and be very effective. As you know we in the Jamestown area had no phone service during the fire and the local radio system (Kgnu) is spotty for us. They did say they had 10 breaks in their regular radio programs but we don’t like mush on the radio and the weather radio system works very good here. We suggest that we use this great system for information. It works great during hazard weather conditions and a fire is a weather related hazard.
We do need to look at all the problems that occurred during this fire event and this is one we might want to kick around.
