The September 13th “Editorials from around the country” contained a Washington Post selection about the West Bank murders of four Israelis by Hamas, with the following statement: “In two shooting attacks last week, four Israelis were killed and two others wounded, interrupting what had been nearly three years of peace in the territory.”
Since January, 2009 (i.e. half of the “nearly three years of peace”), and just in the West Bank, Israel has killed 26 Palestinians. Quite obviously, killing Palestinians is not considered a breach of the peace.
The Camera reported the murders of the Israelis when they occurred, and has referred to them 3 times since. How many of the 26 Palestinian killings were reported in the Camera? Anyone care to take bets on how many were mentioned 3 more times?
On Sept. 13, 91-year old Palestinian farmer Ibrahim Abu Sayed, his 17-year-old grandson, Hossam, and their 16-year-old friend Ismail Abu Oda, were checking Abu Sayed’s farmland and sheep in the Gaza Strip. Israeli tanks crews fired several large-bore shells, killing all 3 instantly. The crews claimed they saw one of them pick up a rocket launcher.
