In the Wednesday letters to the editor, Gregory Iwan admonishes business owners that they must have forgotten business school 103 because they are reluctant to add new employees in this down economy.
I suspect that Gregory has never taken business 101, nor has he had to go through the difficult task of laying off a valued employee trained over a period of 5 to 10 years.
His solution to the economy is just add more employees, even though the business owner knows that he will probably increase his negative cash flow while trying to meet the increased payroll, the cost of medical insurance coverage, and the close to 20% in federal and state taxes that must be paid on his employees salaries. Gregory probably thinks that the unemployment checks received by the unemployed come from the government and not from the unemployment taxes paid by businesses. I doubt that Gregory has ever had to meet a payroll.
