It’s great to see that President Obama is staying true to his roots as a Chicago politician in order to buy, uh, rally support for the Health Care bill. All it took was a joy ride on Air Force One for Dennis Kucinich to agree to vote yes. Congressman Jim Matheson of Utah’s brother, Scott was just appointed as a judge to the US 10th District Court by the President. But, of course, this had nothing to do with the Congressman agreeing to support the Health Care bill.
Let’s also not forget the previous bribes that were handed out such as Nebraska being exempt from provisions of the bill, the Louisiana Purchase, the Florida Gator-aid and a hundred million dollars going to fund a hospital in Connecticut to name just a few. Although we have the most “transparent and open administration” in history, my slightly cynical nature has to wonder if there might be a few other deals about which we don’t know (yet.)
I’m just disappointed that Jared Polis is going to vote for this bill without at least trying to get something for us, his constituents. He should play hardball with Nancy Pelosi and at least demand that Colorado receive a federally funded, solar heated giant water slide for our recreation. But, Jared will vote yes in spite of not receiving any incentives for a bill that 55% of the American people don’t want.
This bill is so wonderful and popular that the latest amendment to it will create 16,000 new IRS agent jobs to enforce its provisions. Watch out businesses and citizens! If you don’t cooperate, the IRS will be there with their latex gloves on to make sure that you comply.
