I’ve lived in 4 different countries that have universal health care and their citizens cannot believe how backwards the American system is. Americans fail to appreciate just how far behind they are in health care. We’re the laughing stock of other developed countries.
I appreciate a healthy debate about how health reform should be paid for and to what extent it should be done but I seriously draw the line at people who’ve never lived abroad attacking other countries and, out of fear, paying lip service to the GOP and lobbyists.
Go live abroad. Live in another country for a while. Get a new perspective. But don’t allow your ignorance (lack of knowledge) and a misguided sense of patriotism to affect millions of lives. Millions of people die unnecessarily every year due to lack of health care and millions of others line up for days to attend free health care clinics.
This isn’t Darfur, it’s the USA!
