Dear Sirs,
Last year I returned from overseas just to vote because I felt that America finally got the President that it deserves. However, upon my return this year I am appalled to find that the so badly needed health care reform is being blocked.

I work as a naturopathic physician in Europe and there it is self understood that every individual should be covered by a health care plan. In addition, a new type of thinking is evolving in terms of using all types of preventive care programs to enhance personal health and longevity. This is called “lifestyle medicine” and long tested systems such as Ayurveda have become extremely popular. This includes a highly individualized health care plan that is prevention oriented in terms of diet, daily routines and seasonal detox programs designed to meet the needs of the individual. Recognized health insurance companies are even giving their customers up to 30% reduction towards their regular health care insurance costs for those who commit to the health promoting ayurvedic plans. What we need to do in America is stop the rhetoric and get on with a plan to provide each and every American with affordable health coverage while at the same time promoting a culture of preventive medicine. A healthy society is made of healthy individuals and a healthy mind lives in a healthy body, so an ancient Roman saying goes. So lets get on with the business of supporting President Obamas new health care reform in order to have a healthy wealthy and prosperous USA that we all can be proud of!
