How much are Americans willing to sacrifice for their countrymen? Not
much, apparently. Our sacred vow - as once defined in the Declaration
of Independence – now reads, ³we mutually pledge to each other, our lives,
our fortunes, and our sacred honor - unless it costs us a buck.²
How is it that we are willing to let our poor and minorities fight and die for us, and do our dirty, menial and hard physical work, and refuse them
the basics of American citizenship – such as health care? That¹s right,
it costs us a buck.
How is it that we are willing to employ immigrant labor – or out source our work - so that American citizens ( whose labor and loyalty helped
build the corporations that do these things ) are out of work? Right
again, it costs us a buck. And why - needing these immigrants to
provide the cheap labor and produce we all insist upon - are we not
willing to give them health care? Right again!
Why were we ( and do we continue to be ) willing to finance without question, wars started and grossly mismanaged by a dishonest and incompetent administration, and why did we allow that administration to practically eliminate the tax load on those most able to be able to pay?
Alas, this cannot be answered, for it continues to cost all Americans -
except for the mega rich - megabucks.
